What you'll do

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for packaging materials, aligning with global business unit (BU) objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with global BU Key Account Managers (KAMs), Regional Category Team Leaders (CTLs), and Category Team Managers (CTMs) to optimize spend and drive value.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Define and execute efficient sourcing processes, ensuring full documentation and traceability.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate supply and price risks.
  • Collaborate with BU stakeholders to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across the entire value chain.
  • Support demand management activities within BUs to optimize material usage and reduce waste.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Develop and manage a sustainable supplier portfolio, focusing on long-term partnerships and continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed about sustainability trends and their impact on the packaging industry.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead indirectly a high-performing team of 8 procurement professionals located globally. This team does not report directly into this role.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective knowledge sharing and best practice adoption within the category team and across the organization.
  • Digital Transformation:
  • Drive the adoption of digital tools and technologies to streamline procurement processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Leverage e-sourcing and e-procurement solutions to optimize sourcing activities.

  • Experienced leader in global procurement, empowering teams to deliver impactful results and cross-functional collaboration
  • 8+ years in strategic sourcing for direct materials in international settings
  • Sustainability champion dedicated to building a responsible supplier portfolio and advancing sustainable practices across the supply chain
  • Skilled communicator and negotiator with strong influence across all stakeholder levels
  • Agile and adaptable, with a creative approach to evolving market dynamics
  • Proficient in project management, ensuring smooth execution of complex initiatives
  • Analytical and data-driven, making decisions that align with business goals
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
